Easy No Spread Roll Out Sugar Cookie Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 227g salted butter, room temperature
  • 120g granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 480g all-purpose flour, sifted
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a mixer, cream together butter and sugar untill well incoporated.

  3. Add flour in batches, mix untill well incoporate

  4. Divide the dough in half, and roll to 5-6mm thickness between two sheets of parchment paper or ziplock bag.

  5. Chill the dough for 30 minutes. 
  6. Preheat oven to 170 degree celsius.
  7. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters (and embossers, if any) and place them on a parchement paper or peforated mat lined baking sheet.

  8. Bake at 170 degree celsius for 15 - 20 minutes (for 3.0 inch size cookie)
  9. Remove cookies from baking sheet and place on a wire rack until cookies are cooled completely.

Notes

  • This recipe makes about 22-24 pieces 3.0 inch cookies. You can scale up / down to what you need.
  • Tailor the baking time to your liking; for a softer cookie, reduce the baking time and vice versa. Also adjust baking time based on cookie size & thickness.
